A festival for discussing graduation projects for fourth-year students

The first stage of the Graduation Projects Festival was completed today, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in the Dr. Munir Al-Muzaffar Hall of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Many instructors and students from the department were present.

The Central Committee of the University Presidency discussed ten different projects from the fourth stage students with the aim of creating a competition between the projects, choosing the best ones, and showcasing the inventiveness of the students and their supervisors.

The Central Committee praised the caliber of the projects, their practical benefits in identifying and addressing the demands of the labor market, and the graduates of the department for their ability to channel their academic energies from their studies into community-serving work projects.

The Power Station Engineering Branch project was distinguished and nominated for the final competition of the Graduation Projects Festival, which bears the title (Manufacturing and studying a tulip-shaped turbine to light external roads), prepared by students Batoul Nihad, Abdul Rahman Basem, and Haider Ali, and supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay

 

The Mechanical Engineering Department holds its fifteenth annual student festival under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology,

Professor Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghuban, under the slogan "Engineering Innovation: A Step towards Sustainable Development".

The festival was attended by the President of the University of Technology, Professor Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghuban, the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Mohsin Noori Hamzah, and a number of branch heads, faculty members, and students of the department in the Dr. Munir Al-Mudhaffar Hall.

The festival aims to achieve the goals of sustainable development, specifically the fourth goal (Quality Education) and the ninth goal (Industry Innovation and Infrastructure), by showcasing the scientific achievements of students and enhancing their confidence in their scientific and intellectual products. Moreover, it serves as an annual event that allows students to apply the theoretical aspects covered during their university studies and highlight them as practical scientific models. Undoubtedly, it is an opportunity for entry into the practical sector and the specialized field.

Al-Ghuban emphasized in his speech: "We have witnessed creativity from the students of the department under the supervision of esteemed professors, and this is the fruit of their continuous efforts over four years in their graduation projects to support the Iraqi industry in various specialties nationwide.

" He called on all relevant state institutions to participate in student festivals to benefit from the ideas of students and support them.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering celebrates Women's Day

 

      Mechanical Engineering, in coordination with the Women's Empowerment Unit at the University of Technology, held a celebration on the occasion of Women's Day, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Moayed Razoki Hassan, the Assistant Head of the Department for the Scientific Affairs Assistant Professor Dr. Muhsin Nouri Hamza, and Assistant for Postgraduate Studies Dr. Emad Abdul Hussein.

   The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem, then reading Surat Al-Fatihah, as a tribute to the martyrs of the educational process.After that, Assistant Professor Dr. Moayed Razoki Hassan gave a speech in which he praised the great and prominent role played by Iraqi women as partners in change and progress, praising the exceptional efforts of women, especially in the scientific aspect and their distinguished role in providing society with important scientific expertise and competencies.

     The celebration included a group of activities on this occasion, where Mrs. Hind Mahmoud Shabib, Director of the Women's Empowerment Department at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, delivered a lecture entitled (Iraqi women have a bright past and continuous giving). The students of the Student Activities Department presented distinguished artistic activities, as well as poems that sang the role of women. Iraqi in sacrifice and altruism.
